Landscaping
A lawn is only as good as what’s under it. Sod laid on rough, un-prepped ground never roots right — it dries out in the seams and dies back in patches. Because I do my own grading, I shape and smooth the ground first, then lay the sod tight so it knits into one lawn instead of a checkerboard. New build with a mud yard, a lawn that never recovered, a bare patch that won’t fill in — I can turn it into grass that holds.
Upstate summers are hard on a new lawn. I time and prep the install so it roots before the heat sets in, not after.

How I approach it

Check the ground
I look at the soil, the grade, and how it drains before anything goes down.

Prep & smooth
Grade and rake the surface smooth so the sod sits flat and roots evenly.

Lay it tight
Sod laid tight and staggered — or seed spread even — so it fills in as one lawn.

Set it up to root
Roll it in, water it well, and give you a simple plan to keep it alive.

Sod or seed — which is better?
Sod gives you an instant lawn and holds a slope better; seed costs less but takes weeks and the right season. I’ll tell you which fits your yard and budget.
Can you fix a patchy existing lawn?
Yes — I can grade and re-sod the bad areas or overseed the whole thing, depending on how far gone it is.
Do you prep the ground first?
Always. Fine grading is the difference between a lawn that takes and one that dies in patches.
